This month is a month where we focus on gratitude... being thankful... Facebook is full of friends writing their daily "I am thankful for" posts. Gratitude was the focus of church today. After all, the day we celebrate with good food, family, and friends is called Thanksgiving.
So, what am I thankful for? This month has been stressful for me. I haven't been focusing on the good things in my life, only the negative things happening around me. Bummer.
Trials are good, right? Feeling sorry for myself is okay, right? During my trials I have a hard time weeding through the yuck, to remember the things I'm thankful for.
So, here's a few things in no particular order that I am thankful for, even though the month of gratitude is nearing the end.
I am grateful for...
A patient husband
A beautiful home
A car to get me places I need to be
My testimony of the Gospel
Beautiful scenery
Grandchildren
My sisters
Animals
The ocean
The smell after it rains
My camera
My list goes on and on now that I'm thinking of things. It would be a very long post if I kept it up.
And yes,
I'm even thankful for each of my children. For the things they are teaching me as they make the choices they do. Good choices and bad choices.
After all, we are here to learn. We are here to experience. We are here to make decisions of our own, and then live with the consequences.
And...
We are here to be thankful.
