The Day in the Life...
of a goat.
You read it right... a goat. Now, this is a special goat. His name is Chivito.
Kayli takes an animal science class at school. It's a great class! And because of that great class, she had the chance to raise an animal and take it to show, and eventually auction. So, she decided on a goat.
I don't think she thought she would fall in love with the goat. Chivito is an unusual goat. He hears Kayli's voice, and he gets really loud and excited. She walks into the pen, and it runs up to her and puts his two front hooves (is that what you call a goats feet) up on her, so it's standing on his two back feet/hooves. A hug. A real hug.
He loves to eat.
He also loves his brother.
So... today, the goat had a special day. He went on a field trip.
So, he checked out the back yard. It was a good back yard, but not enough grass to eat!
So he checked out the tile inside his first house. The tile was okay, but food, he wanted food.
But, what he really needed, was a bath. Not an easy thing to give a farm animal. He wasn't impressed.
And he let us know!!
So, we tried the shower instead. He liked the shower.
Now, he was a clean goat. Food. Yes, this is where I get food.
Hmmm... that really looks good, that sandwich. Wonder if he'll share.
A special day, ending at church of all places. Kayli took him to show him for her young woman project. Bishop said he couldn't find anywhere in the handbook where a goat wasn't welcome in church. She told everyone about her new friend. He peeeeeeeeeeeeeed in front of everyone, but beyond that, the goat was well behaved. He was quiet, reverent even.
As we took him back to his brother, and his pen after the meeting, we can only imagine what conversations will be said among the two of them tonight. Air conditioning house, tile, no grass in the back yard, and this big pool they let me pee and poop in, only to then get really really wet in this box where water sprays down.
Can you imagine?
Chivito is very very clean. Feels very soft and cuddly. For a few minutes, I even toyed with the idea of letting him spend the night. We have two dogs after all.
Can you imagine?
